Vermont Maple Foundation

The Vermont Maple Foundation is a non-profit entity which serves to promote and protect the Vermont maple syrup brand and to work on its behalf with the State of Vermont and other appropriate organizations. We educate the public and the media about the production of maple syrup and its importance to the Vermont working landscape and economy. Maple syrup producers help to sustain forests in Vermont as a working landscape.

The Maple Foundation is completely dependent on donations. Please send your contributions for maple education and promotion to: Vermont Maple Foundation, 491 East Barnard Road, S. Royalton, VT 05068. Together we can help to tell the great Vermont Maple Story!

2009 Vermont Maple Foundation Activities

Here is a partial list of activities that happened in the past year:

  • Completed a successful 8th annual Maple Open House Weekend March, 2009
  • Partnered again with the Vermont Ski Areas Association (VSAA) and the Vermont Chamber of Commerce to produce the “2008-2009 Vermont Ski & Maple Map. We are now working on the “2009-2010 Vermont Ski & Maple Map” and the deadline to be included is May 29. The maps will be printed in full color and will be distributed at all Vermont Welcome Centers as well as out-of-state by the VSAA, the Vermont Department of Tourism & Marketing (VDTM), the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, and VT Agency of Agriculture. When the Department of Tourism and Marketing receives requests for Vermont information, they include the Map in their information packet.
  • Garnered publicity for the industry including news segments on television, local and national radio stations, articles in newspapers and magazines across the country including “The Boston Globe” “The New York Times” “Newsday” “Bergen Record”, Chicago, Detroit and Philadephia media,”USA Today”“Country Living” “Yankee” and the Associated Press. In addition to sending press releases and working with reporters, our marketing manager also works with VDTM and the Vermont Agency of Agriculture to partner on media stories.
  • In partnership with VMSMA, maintained the www.vermontmaple.org website which received more than 2,000,000 hits in 2008.
  • Responded to many inquiries from the media, individuals and businesses.
  • Maintained partnerships with the Agency of Agriculture, Vermont Department of Tourism & Marketing, the Vermont Ski Areas Association and the Vermont Chamber of Commerce in order to leverage their promotional activities for Vermont maple.
  • Promoted Vermont Maple at Vermont ski areas and at the annual fall Boston Winter Sports Show.
